NWBA: Cheshire Brewers 49 Wrexham Warriors 52

24th November, 2016 | Archive, NWBA Regular Season, Wrexham Warriors | 0 comments

Having won on the buzzer last week on the road, the Brewers lost it this week at home, ending a two-year stretch without a competitive defeat at Ellesmere Port Catholic High.

A clutch three pointer from Warriors MVP Chris Alimi sealed it for the visitors after the home side was careless with possession and slack on defence.

Not to take anything away form the Warriors, they turned up to do battle and earned their victory. But by the end the Brewers knew they needed to look at their own performance and improve to get their title dream back on track.

Steve Flanagan, again voted MVP for the Brewers, tried to drive the team on but collectively they fell short of their usual standards.

Alimi was outstanding for the Warriors however. For a short time the Brewers were able to contain him but he continued to adjust his game to force the defence to rethink their approach.
