The 2022/23 season marks Brewers Basketball’s 10th anniversary – making the club the longest active men’s amateur basketball club in Chester.

To mark this historic milestone, the club, in partnership with LMC Lighting & Electrical Services and Triple Double Hoopwear, has launched a new club logo and kit which was unveiled on social media earlier this week.

Head coach Adam Lloyd is incredibly proud that the club has reached a decade of competition.

“Back in 2012 when five of us sat in the Custom House pub in Chester and came up with this crazy idea, none of us knew that 10 years later we would be where we are,” he said.

“We’ve had our ups and downs, finished bottom of the league and finished unbeaten as Welsh National Champions. We’ve had some great players train with us and some great players play with us, run tournaments and faced off against visiting teams from the US.

“We’ve always been fortunate to build good partnerships to help us along the way. LMC, who are based in Deeside, have been an amazing partner for many years now. With their support, alongside fellow partners Pivotal Sound and Lighting and Quarry & Castle, we’ve been able to take a pub basketball team and build a community around it.

“It’s been an incredible journey to get to this point, but one thing has never changed – making this club a friendly, welcoming place for anyone who loves basketball and wants to play.

“Maybe you’ve never played before but like the idea, perhaps you played at school, or you were at a good standard but had nowhere to go past U18s. It doesn’t matter, if basketball is your sport the Brewers can be your home.”
