Brewers-Logo blackAs has been announced through social media, two-time Wirral League playoff champions and reigning Wirral League champions Cheshire Brewers will cross the border to join the North Wales Basketball League for 2016/17.

The decision to move was taken by club members after a great deal of discussion and the club is excited by the new challenge.

“This club found its feet and established itself within the Wirral League, enjoying a meteoric rise from whipping boys to champions and increasing participation in basketball at grassroots level,” said Brewers founder Alec Doyle.

“However the club has decided the time is right to seek a new challenge and we are really looking forward to testing ourselves against new players and teams and continuing to establish strong roots that will mean this club thrives for years to come.”
