Lloyd’s Special Brew: We’re up and running – now we must be consistent

20th November, 2022 | News | 0 comments

I wrote before our last game that Bulldogs would be tough and they were – but we were tougher and ground out the win by playing our way and showing some grit.

We deserved that W – the lads have really started to click now and it showed.

Next up we face Wrexham Raiders and I want to thank them for agreeing to switch venues to keep this game on. It’s never easy when you are forced into a venue change but thanks to their agreement and the work of our committee we have kept things on track.

We now have to bring the same level of effort and commitment that we did against Bulldogs and, to be honest, that we have brought to most of our games this season. It all starts with defence, get that right and we can concentrate on playing our way.

Training since our last game has been hard and the lads are all pushing each other. It’s getting harder to choose our matchday squad due to the quality the guys are showing in training. It’s a great sign for the rest of the season because everyone is pushing each other to get better, which improves our overall quality on the court.

Finally, as a proud Welshman, I personally want to wish the Cymru mens football team good luck in their first World Cup game for over 60 years. Whatever your thoughts on the World Cup this year, its a great achievement for them to qualify and I hope they do well.

Although I won’t be able to watch it live on Monday, I’ll be cheering them on from the bench – CYMRU AM BYTH!
