NWBA: Cheshire Brewers 80 Caernarfon Celts 64

22nd February, 2017 | Archive, Caernarfon Celts, NWBA Regular Season | 0 comments

The Brewers’ final home game of the 2016/17 North Wales League regular season was a hard-fought contest againstĀ a determined Celts side.

Missing their big men, the Brewers had to make adjustments and in the early stages the Celts ran them close.

It was hard defensive work that set the Brewers apart in this one and ensured they held enough of an advantage that when they hit a run, they were able to protect their lead.

Injuries and absences brought a great opportunity for some of this season’s fringe players to get minutes, something which should give the Brewers strength in depth come the Playoffs.

Brewers MVP was Michael Embaye, the catalyst for the home team’s most potent offensive plays while Player/Head Coach Tom Griffiths was top scorer with 15pts.

For the visitors Niall Williams hit 28pts and was named MVP.
