Cheshire Brewers clocked up their eighth win of the season in the North Wales League against a battling Mold side.

Iker Amuchastegui stood out for the home side as he logged 22 points to lead the Brewers scorers and claim the MVP award but the scoreline belied the passionate performance of both sides.

Indeed, emotions ran so high the Brewers received their first technical foul of the campaign – this is the deepest they have ever gone into a season before receiving their first T.

For the visitors Shannon Staples took the MVP honour.

It was an important win for the Brewers however. As they enter the final few regular season games, maintaining distance between them and teams capable of a late surge – which Mold definitely could – may prove critical when it comes to deciding playoff teams and positions.
