After a promising start to their season, Brewers Basketball headed to Wrexham Warriors confident, despite a number of late withdrawals as illness swept through the squad,

Coach Adam Lloyd had faith in his team that they could continue their progress from the opening two games and challenge their hosts, but it proved not to be their night as the Warriors got off to a strong start and, despite a few flashes that suggested a fightback may be on the cards, the Brewers found themselves mismatched as the hosts ran away with an 89-47 victory.

With almost all the Brewers’ big men missing, they simply did not cause Wrexham enough problems to deliver the win.

Afterwards Coach Lloyd was philosophical.

“Every team is entitled to have a bad day – this was ours,” he said. “Yes there were some setbacks with our squad but I still believe if we had all been on our game that would have been a lot closer.

“What I can’t fault anyone for tonight was effort. Despite nothing going right and us being unable to get any momentum, every player left everything out there and gave 100% effort,
